After lunch I went to visit the Fortress. It was ok. There’s not very much left of the original structures. Every thing on display except for an extremely small amount of rusty iron tools etc. and in one case, the floor of a building was built in the last 40 years.
They did try to use the tools and techniques and built from plans gleaned from surviving documents.

As the fortress was designed to withstand a siege (which it spectacularly failed to do both times the British attacked) it had to keep itself supplied. Here is an example of both food and pens:
