The past three months have been the busiest three months in my entire life. I’m relieved to have them behind me. I took on a heavy but manageable course load, but in the middle of the term, when I thought I had it all together, one of my fellow instructors in a Continuing Education program I teach in on occasion had to leave town for an emergency. I was asked if I could fill in and those of you who know me know that I have a very difficult time saying no. I took on his three classes for two weeks. It doesn’t sound like very much extra, but with his three and my already full load, I was teaching roughly 3 times the standard teaching load and twice my normal load. That two weeks sent me into some sort of weird head and body beyond reasonable level of exhaustion mode.

I’m surprised I made it through that with very little in the way of drama and botheration.

I am taking the night off. I uploaded all my grades today. The Winter 2008 term is finally over. I can afford to take one night off. I’m going to do a little reading in preparation for the upcoming spring session, but I won’t start gearing up in earnest ’till tomorrow. The spring session begins next week. I have three courses for the entire summer. That is a nice load. I’ll be making much less money than I usually make, but I managed (I hope) to get caught up enough with my debts and have a very small amount saved so it shouldn’t be too bad.

It has also been a long time since I pulled the camera out. I took some images of Dundas square this morning for Steve. I’ll post them here. If you line them up just so … they are a series that shows a three hundred and sixty degree view of the square.

I hope you enjoyed these. As you can see, it was a beautiful day (or at least morning as it began to cloud over shortly after I shot these at about 9:30am).

I will be posting much more often and I hope to have more interesting things to say, interesting images to post and who knows, probably an original thought or two but I can’t push that too hard.

happy spring.

★ Firefox 3 vs. Safari 3: “Steve Jobs, in a 2003 New York Times magazine interview, said:

‘Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. People think it’s this veneer — that the designers are handed this box and told, ‘Make it look good!’ That’s not what we think design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.’”
