I just put a small processing sketch at the top of my placeholder page. It is a clock. I put it there to remind me of the constant, unrelenting passage of time. It tells the time, it counts the time passing and it counts down to the day my personal odometer records another year gone.

yaaay! It was, contrary to how it may seem from the description above, a lot of fun to work on.

happy monday.

Oh, the link is at http://www.davgreen.com/

I’ve just added a video to my portfolio site. It is made up of the portraits I extracted from my images of Times Square.

I’ve posted it here: http://www.davgreen.com/portfolio/reverie_video.html

enjoy.

My third post in a day. wow.

I just posted a pdf book that I worked on last November. It is a collection (still growing) of public telephones. Please have a look at it. It is in the book section of my portfolio.

Here’s the first image from the book:

I’m going through the old family photographs, scanning them in an effort to preserve them. I’ll be putting them up on a database driven website later next month.

I found this image of me standing proudly beside the first snowman I made (with, I’m sure my sister’s help) the first time I’d ever seen snow. If you look closely I’m not wearing mittens on my hands, but socks. I can’t remember if we had mittens etc. for this trip such was the excitement about seeing all this freakish natural behaviour. I mean. Ice coming from the sky? Unnatural.

… perhaps I spoke of my love of this software too soon. It appears to not want me to send this image to myblog. mmmmm.

Let me try again.

It is mostly up. I also have it organized so that it should be easy to update. I am still adding things to it, but there’s enough there now for people to see some of the work I have. There are more images and projects to post and I’ll be getting those up soonest.
Along with the site, I am also working on making a number of books. I select and sort the images using Adobe Lightroom (although I’m seriously thinking of switching to Apple’s Aperture — or at least trying it), then I put the images in a template I have designed in In Design and export two pdf files. One low res one for the website and a higher res one for to print. I print them here and bind them in a lovely perfect binding press I bought a few months ago. Quick, nice, photobooks.
Here’s a link to one I did on Food. This is a link to the pdf file.

My portfolio site is currently at: http://www.davgreen.com/portfolio

I hope you enjoy it. There will be regular updates to it as I have lots and lots of stuff laying around in boxes and on hard drives.

I really like wordpress but I hated the web based interface. I’m trying this thing. It is a program called MarsEdit. It allows me to enter my blog entry when I’m offline. More importantly I’m not typing into a friggin’ text entry field in a browser.
So far I’m liking it. All I had to do was tell it I had an existing blog, then it asked me for the url, username and password. Everything worked a treat.
Let’s see if it will allow ime to enter an image with any ease?

Ooooh I like it. The only thing I would like is if it would automatically re-size the image. But that’s what applescript is for.

Excellent.

I do think I’ll be posting more stuff. I may even buy this thing.

MarsEdit is found here.

I do like it indeed.

I’m going to pick this up again. It has been a month or so since I’ve last done anything here. I am going to try to post something everyday. Either an image or a video clip or a sound work. Something.

Starting tomorrow, of course.

Happy new year y’all.
